Narasimhan was also the President of the MSU’s Asian Pacific Islanders Caucus and a member of the President’s Commission on Affirmative Action, Equal Opportunity and Diversity from 2013 – 2016.ĭr. He served as the President of the Region in 2013 – 2014 and was the Region’s elected representative on the AAA Council, a governing body of the association, for 2015 – 2017 and has been re-elected to serve another three year term until 2020. He has chaired the annual conferences of the AAA’s Mid-Atlantic Region in 20 and has served on the Steering Committee of the Region since 2007. Narasimhan served on the Board of the Philadelphia Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants from 1988 to 1994 eventually becoming the President of the Chapter in 1993. Additionally, he has reviewed submissions to the annual conferences of the American Accounting Association’s (AAA) meetings since 1998.ĭr. His work experience includes former positions in various companies as Loan Officer, Management Trainee, and Audit Assistant. His principal areas of research involve auditing, financial accounting, international accounting, accounting information systems, and teaching and curricula issues. He was a visiting assistant professor at the University of Baltimore (1994-1995) and served as an assistant professor at the City University of Hong Kong (1995-1997) and Lingnan University of Hong Kong (1997-1998). Narasimhan taught at Drexel University first as an instructor (1986-1988) then as an assistant professor (1988-1994). At the undergraduate and graduate levels, he teaches courses in Financial Accounting, Auditing, International Accounting and Accounting Information Systems, including the Senior Seminar in Accounting and Contemporary Issues in Public Accountancy.
